Pregnant woman allegedly stabs husband to death in Nasarawa State

22-year-old pregnant woman, Veronica Boniface, has been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State command of the Nigerian Security and protection Corps, NSCDC, for allegedly stabbing her husband to death after suspecting he received a call from a woman she presumed to be his girlfriend.

Parading the suspect at the command headquarters in Lafia, the NSCDC state commandant, Habu Fari, said the lady was arrested in Obene town of Keana government Area of the state, after an intelligence report.

“The husband was rushed to the hospital after she stabbed him with a knife once they quarrelled over a call she was suspecting that it had been a woman that called him. We acknowledged that she features a two-and-a-half-year-old baby and now within the hands of the relations of the husband, Late Mohammed” Mr Fari said

Speaking with newsmen, Veronica who said she was one month pregnant, begged for mercy and blamed the devil for her action. She said her intention was to scare the husband and collect the phone but she mistakenly killed him within the process.
